Cricket & Countryside Education Days

The programme is aimed at giving children from mainstream primary and special schools the opportunity to visit the Belvoir Estate and take part in cricket coaching sessions and countryside education.

The children learn from professional cricket coaches and meet the farmer, gamekeeper, beekeeper, rural police and the hounds; they also fly birds of prey and take part in archery, orienteering and First Reponders exercises. The Trust puts on 27 days for the children to visit and learn at the Belvoir Estate.

2025 Outcomes

  • 33 primary and SEN schools from Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire visited the Estate
  • 1,721 children and over 100 school staff attended 20 days
  • 26 volunteers assisted on the days

“The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learned such a lot about how the countryside works.

They saw things, for example the working dogs, that they would never have had the chance to, so thank you so much. The supervising adults were fun, knowledgeable and most importantly safe. We’ll definitely be booking it again!”
